Educating Girls Is a Real Lifesaver
According to the article “Educating Girls Is a Real Lifesaver” by Victoria Brittain and Larry Elliott, the authors state girls have to go to school just as boys do because the authors predict educating girls can increase gender equality and keep poverty away. In this article, girls who are not present in schools due to being poor are interested in changing the situation. The authors state educating girls can make economies increas, and education is a basic human right. Uneducated women unintentionally cause their children’s lives to be the same way. Child deaths can decrease when mothers are educated, and some places show proof of this. In addition, when girls are educated, their education can help to control the birth rate and improve economies. Finally, economies can improve by educating girls.
Some countries live in the poverty because they think that girls stay home to make money is better than to waste time on their education. In other hand, the men do not want to change the sexual discrimination in these countries because they do not want to change the situation the men’s position higher than women’s.
The people who live in poor countries think girls should work for their families at home. Many families in third-world countries think girls should spend the time bringing money home instead of wasting time on education. For example, if a poor family sends their girls to school for studying, they have to spend money to educate girls, so they will not send girls to school.
In some countries, if people want to have a baby, they prefer to have a boy because of sexual discrimination. They feel boys are more useful than girls, and girls can do humble work (easy work). For example, they cannot get a position as good as boy. They like to send boys to school and do nothing for girls.
Educating girls can make countries economies improve, also, it decreases sexual discrimination. If poor countries want to pick up their economies, educating girls could be one way to reform this situation.
